New York City and the Outlets in Dunkin' Donuts

We arrived in New York City at 6:30am. We had a reservation at the Hosteling International hostel.

.... then we didn't.

We go up to the front desk and the reservation "didn't exist." They gave us a list of other hostels in the area and they are all full.

Every.
Single.
One.
Of.
Them.
Of course there were.. it's the freaking 4th of July.

We had limited internet access. We were trying to find motels through our phones in a random dunkin' donuts... on very small screens in 95 degree weather. SO MUCH SWEAT.

Jason spent 5 dollars on a Mountain Dew. He's insane. Water is so much better... speaking of water.. I only have a little bit of Oregon water left. :(

We walked all around the lower Manhattan area. We rode many subways. We hurdled our 30 pound backpacks up and down stairs. We got blisters. We battled the hobos and Jehovah's witnesses. We got the "I hate tourists" looks from almost everyone.

This was our rite of passage for this trip.

We found a motel.... pretty cheap for our location.

I haven't played chess with an old man yet and no pictures yet.

We will venture out  pretty soon.

And so... it begins.
